Confirmed news!

On March 17th, we had our anatomy scan, aka ultrasound to confirm our little one's gender. As most of you know, I've felt all along we were having a girl, but we wanted and needed to make sure. So, yes....it's a GIRL!

She's waving "Hi" or.... (giving us the finger here haha) : )

Celebrating 2 Years

March 7, 2011 marked our 2 year wedding anniversary. Since our anniversary fell on a week day, we decided to plan a weekend get away for a later time. But, the night before, our good friends, Neal and Stephanie took us out for a delicious dinner at Buca di Beppo. We had plenty of leftovers for another delicious meal the night of our anniversary - and yay! - no cooking for me!
The beautiful bouquet (that Brian picked out himself) with a colorful variety of flowers.

Later, we played my new favorite xbox game - DJ Rap Star. - An awesome game where you get to "rap" to various rap songs ( a lot of old skool rap). I could seriously play this game all night! But we kept it at a mere 2 hours... ; )

Been Awhile....

When I started this blog, I knew it'd be difficult to keep it updated. BUT, I never expected to let 8 months pass before writing on here again! Where did the time go?! I think last year had so many emotions, that I just let time get the best of me. There were so many things to blog about, and instead of updating, I just got more behind. But I'm back! ( I hope....)

I was so sick of 2010. It wasn't all bad, but facing two miscarriages in one year seemed like more than I could handle. I could not wait for a new year and a fresh start. With this new year, brings a new sense of hope. And a renewed faith that things will be ok. When I found out in November that I was pregnant again, I was nervous, but I had an intuition that things were going to be ok.

We had our first ultrasound at 6 weeks and another at 12 weeks. Each visit was filled with optimism by not just us, but the nurse showing us our baby too. What a difference to have a caring medical professional! At at our 12 week ultrasound, our little one was jumping around like crazy. What an awesome experience to witness!!

Here's a picture of our little one at 12 weeks, 2 days....

More to come soon.....

Roadtrip to Arizona

This past weekend we took a quick trip to Phoenix, Arizona. Brian's Dad graduated from University of Phoenix with his Bachelor's Degree in Business- Public Administration. It was a special day to see him walk with his class and to celebrate his accomplishment! The rest of the time was spent relaxing in our hotel's lazy river and exploring the local restaurants. It was short but a nice weekend get-away! On the way home, we stopped at the Dinosaurs in Cabazon. It was a nice way to end our trip.

Trying to cope

I found this on a site for women who have had miscarriages. I am having a hard time with sorting my emotions. One minute I am sad, yet hopeful and another minute I am angry and discouraged and don't want to try again. I hope time will heal this loss, but at the same time, I don't want to forget that there was a life in me. Just because it wasn't born doesn't mean that I didn't love him or her and want to hold them in my arms...

Still (song)

I've been waiting for you for such a long time
You're always on my mind
And I'm laying awake most of the night
Waiting to hold you tight
Now that I do, and look at you
MY heart is breaking, this can't be true

Lost you before I found you
Gone before you came
But I love you just the same
Missed you before I met you
On Earth we never can, but in heaven we'll meet again

Close to my soul, close to my heart
Right from the start
Lost in time, lost in space
Can't wait to see your face

Now that I do, and look at you
MY heart is breaking, this can't be true

Lost you before I found you
Gone before you came
But I love you just the same
Missed you before I met you
On Earth we never can, but in heaven we'll meet again

Sometimes I find myself wondering what to do
With this pain that I'm going through
But I know one day, God will take me away
And I'm coming home to you

And when I do, and look at you
My heart is healing, I know it's true

Lost you before I found you
Gone before you came
But I love you just the same
Missed you before I met you
On Earth we never can, but in heaven we'll meet again
In heaven we'll meet again

Pregnant!

Most of you already know, but we are expecting! Our little one is due November 4, 2010 and we are pretty excited. The first few weeks were a little difficult because I was worried about miscarrying. But after two doctors appointments, things seem to be alright. (of course I still worry - it's an inherited trait, after all). And finally! - the all-afternoon and evening, aka "morning" sickness has started to subside. Whew!!
My cravings seem to include anything with cheese like cheese pizza from Costco, grilled cheese sandwiches, and macaroni and cheese. And then at times, I just want fruit and vegetables - not chocolate anymore (and I don't miss it!).
I will post ultrasound pictures when they actually start to look like a baby. Right now, Baby Foust looks like a grape. Next appointment April 12th!

A Happy 1st Year

It is hard to believe that it has already been a year since Brian and I were married. It felt like it took forever for that day to come and here we are, a whole year later! We wanted to go up to the cabin in GVL, but a fresh snowfall prevented our trip. So, we spent our anniversary morning eating a delicious breakfast and watching a movie. This is actually pretty typical for us (a meal and movie, that is!). But the day isn't over yet!I love Brian with all my heart and am so happy to be his wife.
